Beginner Acoustic Guitars -
Top Choices
When looking at beginner acoustic
guitars, there are quite a few great choices.
Learning the guitar is an exciting
journey that can last a lifetime. To avoid frustration and
maybe quitting in frustration (before you even really get a
good start) - you'll need a guitar that will stay in tune and
that's easy to play.
The old saying is usually true when it
comes to acoustic guitars - you get what you pay for. You
should spend as much as you can afford to get a quality
instrument that you'll be happy and look forward to learning
on. And most of the following beginner acoustic guitars will
keep you happy for years to come.
You don't have to spend $500 - $1000 -
especially when you're just starting out. You can get a nice
playable instrument made of quality materials for $130 - $300.
Try to stay away from the cheapest models - they're made of
poor quality materials and are very hard to play. If all you
can afford is something cheaper, either save up your money or
buy a used one.
Don't rush into your purchase - take
your time and visit your local music store. Try out as many
guitars as you can - whether you can play or not - at least
you'll get a feel for them. Pay attention to how easy it is to
press down on the strings. And see if the size is right for
you. Can you reach your arm over to strum it with no problem?
Will your fingers reach up to make chords?
Acoustic guitars come in a wide range
of shapes and sizes to accommodate just about every type of
player. If you don't know how to play yet, take a friend along
who knows how to play or ask a sales clerk to play it for you
so you'll be able to get an idea of how it sounds.
